HATS-STEDTRAIN
and the Huntsville/North Alabama Chapter of STC are teaming up to
sponsor a science and technical writing competition for area high
school students. All high school students in public, private, and
parochial schools in the North Alabama area are eligible to enter.
STEDTRAIN is the Science and Technology Education and Training committee
of the Huntsville Association of Technical Societies (HATS). The Huntsville/North
Alabama Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) is
a member of HATS.
There is no entry fee. Entries must be nonfiction and related to a
technical field, such as science, programming, engineering, etc. Essays
or reports should be limited to no more than ten pages. All entries
must conform to competition guidelines.
Winners
will receive cash scholarships. Certificates will be awarded for
honorable mentions.
Entries
will be received until February 17, 2004. Winners will be notified
by mail and honored at the TechWord High School Technical Writing
Competition Awards Ceremony to be held on March 30, 2004. Contact
