2001 STC Membership Survey

I would like to thank everyone who participated in our Chapter survey. Your responses are very valuable and will help the board members to plan future activities. I would like to thank those that offered to volunteer and encourage every member to consider giving just a fraction of your time to help the chapter. Your time investment will be greatly appreciated and the experience rewarding.

If the Huntsville/North Alabama Chapter is to survive, grow, and provide the type of meetings requested, we need members to give their time (not just your STC Society Membership Fees). If we are not scheduling topics and local workshops that have meaning to you, come to the meetings anyway. There is time before and after the meetings to discuss most any topic with an attendee. If you are unable to attend, e-mail or call a board member. Get involved!

As I read through the comments and suggestions I was pleased to discover that most everyone had positive things to say about the chapter and the direction it seems to be going. For a Chapter President with very little experience, this is good news, and I have to credit a spectacular board for their efforts and time. Many have gone beyond the call of duty and deserve all the praise.

To any member that plans to manage or be in management, I really recommend that you attend the chapter board meetings. It is always better to learn and accumulate experience in a friendly and supportive environment than trial by fire. If you need reasons to volunteer, read the answers to questions 10 and 11 from the survey. Not everyone has to be an officer or Board member, but you could start by assisting someone.

I would also like to extend my appreciation to Lonnye Yancey-Smith and Valerie Hazel for their time and efforts in generating, posting, and presenting the results of the online Chapter Survey.

Thank you, and I hope you find the results of the Chapter Survey informative.
